Following on from the previous post about the helpfulness of being an artist, there are a number of ‘how to do it’ art tutorials on youtube: https://www.creativebloq.com/features/the-10-best-youtube-art-channels
However, as this may even be too challenging for some of us (me included), Linda Wilkins and Jill Dwyer have directed me to art websites that offer ‘colouring in’ options. In our current scaled-down world we could imagine what it might have been like in Van Gogh’s bedroom in Arles.
This work and other Van Gogh line drawings can be found on the Van Gogh’s museum ‘Crafting and Colouring’ page: https://vangoghmuseum.nl/en/whats-on/children-and-families/crafting-and-colouring
And as we progress from our bedroom to the livingroom, we might explore, as Louise Lawler does, that wonderful pairing of Jackson Pollock with the lovely 19th century soup tureen we inherited from a great aunt.
Other ‘Tracings’ by Louise Lawler, plus a video showing her exhibition at MoMA in 2017, can be found at: https://www.moma.org/magazine/articles/257
