More virtual art and other forms of entertainment

Thank you very much to Jill Dwyer and Kim Baker for their suggestions of virtual art resources to keep us informed and entertained. Jill has provided a link to Sebastian Smee’s column in the Washington Post titled: ‘So you’re stuck at home. Here’s a guide to finding great art while in isolation’: https://www.washingtonpost.com/entertainment/museums/so-youre-stuck-at-home-heres-a-guide-to-finding-great-art-while-in-isolation/2020/03/18/ccacd222-67c0-11ea-9923-57073adce27c_story.html. And Kim has directed us to CNN Style: ‘All the virtual concerts, plays, museums and other culture you can enjoy from home’: https://edition.cnn.com/style/article/what-to-do-at-home-streaming-art-museums-concerts-coronavirus-trnd/index.html. As someone who enjoys live theatre, I will add this link from London Theatre: ‘5 streaming services to watch Broadway and West End shows in your living room’: https://www.londontheatre.co.uk/theatre-news/west-end-features/theatre-streaming-services-west-end-broadway-musicals?utm_source=SilverpopMailing&utm_medium=email&utm_campaign=20-03-20_LT_Editorial%20(2)&utm_content=. I look forward to more suggestions, feedback and comments from guides.

Thanks to Diana Mitrache for the following:
Guides might be interested in the following arts-related initiative from Google:
    https://www.goodnewsnetwork.org/tour-2500-world-famous-museums-from-comfort-your-own-sofa/?utm_campaign=newsletters&utm_medium=weekly_mailout&utm_source=20-03-2020

Google Arts and Culture has partnered with more than 2,500 museums and galleries around the world in order to offer virtual tours and online displays of their collections to internet surfers. The page also has other ways for users to explore art collections around the world. For those whose overseas trips have vanished into thin air, this might provide a taste of the real thing.

I would also recommend the news source that provided this story – Good News Network. You can subscribe for free and as the name suggests, they provide good (general) news stories. Helps a bit to counter some of the relentless negativity we have been experiencing lately.
